Situated in the picturesque
wooded valley of the River Teise, this impressive
sandstone abbey was built in the 13thC. Surviving
remains include the church, abbey buildings and
gatehouse. The Georgian Dower House is also open
to view. The abbey is a favourite site of photographers
and painters. Why not bring a picnic and spend the
day in these peaceful beautiful surroundings? Small
shop, ice creams and cold drinks.
