Firle
Place is the home of the Gage family and has been
for over 500 years. Originally Tudor, remodelled
in the 18thC it is similar in appearance to that
of a French château. Sitting at the foot of
the South Downs in its own peaceful parkland, it
houses a wonderful collection of Old Master paintings,
European furniture and beautiful Sèvres porcelain.
Guided tours. Licensed restaurant: lunch 12noon
- 2.30pm, teas 3pm - 4.30pm.
