Firle near Lewes, East Sussex

Firle Place is the home of the Gage family and has been for over 500 years. Originally Tudor, remodelled in the 18thC it is similar in appearance to that of a French château. Sitting at the foot of the South Downs in its own peaceful parkland, it houses a wonderful collection of Old Master paintings, European furniture and beautiful Sèvres porcelain. Guided tours. Licensed restaurant: lunch 12noon - 2.30pm, teas 3pm - 4.30pm.

Opening Times:
Open 2pm - 4.30pm. Easter, May & August Bank Holiday Sun/Mons. June - Sept Weds, Thurs, Suns.
