We are looking for experienced housekeeper/cook for my mother and father who live in Hove (near Hove Park). This would be a part-time role for around 3-5 hours per day, ideally a split shift for someone very local. My father is physically fit at 88 but has mild dementia and has problems with his memory. My mother at 89 is mentally sharp but struggles with mobility following 2 broken hips and a recent broken arm from a fall. We are looking for a sensible, friendly, reliable and experienced person to help them out for a few hours daily. Duties primarily include preparing and serving evening meals, but also general household care (laundry, changing bedding etc) and assistance with running the home (admin, shopping, putting bins out, dealing with tradespeople). Medical and personal care experience would be a bonus but not essential as they can look after themselves. Both my parents are reluctant to have help so would need a friendly, kind, and patient approach. DBS Check and/or verifiable references required - Non-smoker with own car preferred. Ability/willingness to transport them to appointments or grocery shopping (with appropriate insurance) would also be a bonus. Following my mum's last fall they've had a live-in carer for a few months but no longer feel they need this level of support.
