This site helped me find out lots of information and pictures for my new project I am setting up in St Leonards.
I was 10 years old when I moved here with my family and 10 years on I am still learning about the town and its history.
I really love the town and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Last January (2006) I visited England for the first time in my life. I'm an English teacher so this experience was really importannt for me. I stayed in Hastings and I loved it. Now back home I long to go back. I think it's a wonderfull place, full of friendly people. Thank you for letting me "peek" at it over and over again through your photographs.

I love visiting this site because I get really homesick for Hastings. I grew up there through my teens until I got married in 1956. I miss Hastings dreadfully and wish i could contact my dear friend and first love, Derek knight. I am having my 71st birthday today and wish I could travel back in time to my twenties again.

I lived at 43 Lower Park Road, Hastings from about 1949, when I was three, until 1957. I went to an infant school in the Queens Road, sang in the choir at St. Andrews Church (vicar was Rev Combridge), and spent my summer holidays down at the miniature railway near the Stade. ABC Minors on Saturday mornings! Great memories. The sun always seemed to be shining there.

Found the sight very interesting. My father was the minister of St Leoards Parish Church in the late forties for some 20 years. I use to live on Quarry Hill. I have not been back to St Leonards since 1965 when my son was 3 years old. Some things are the same but some of the pictures I didn't recognise. Love to see the place again some day.

I grew up in Hastings but moved away some 25 years ago when I got married. I have recently devorced after 28 years and was browsing your web site which brought back some very fond memories. I still have family in Catsfield and Bexhill, but have lost contact with all my school friends. I was a regular player with Sussex Brass and was saddened to hear that the band is no more. Thanks for the memories.

I used to live in Hastings before we moved to Florida here in the US, but there is still nothing like that town here, nothing at all. I really miss it! I hope to come back soon and see if i can find any of my school friends back there, i left hastings when i was 13, going to Claverham CC. Well anyway, appreciate Hastings, there is no where else like it.
