my grandad was born in hastings and we always spent our days out down there.i recently went through the town on a coach and was thrilled to see the ice cream parlour still retains its name.i believe hastings and its castle gave me my lifetime love affair with history and a total fascination with castles especially norman ones.the beach: nothing to me, compares with that special sound of the waves pounding the pebble beach and the smell of ozone is never as sweet as in hastings.long may the castle ruins crown the hill above the lovely old town

I used to study English in Hastings during June to December 1976, it was in Norman Road - St. Leonards on Sea. I lived with 2 nice English Families at St Helen's Park Road (Jones & Moon) but now I lost contact with them.
I remember, I used to have lunch at Bamboo Chinese Restaurant right in front of my school at Norman Road. Is the place still there ? Some of the places I remember were Memorial, Saturdays Disco, White Rock, Old Town and for sure Hastings Pier.
If anybody remember me please do contact me (e-mail : diete_joenoes@yahoo.com, It will be nice to hear from you.
This Web Site is Great, specially the pictures in Photo Gallery, they bring me back to Hastings.

Having spent my teenage years in Hastings (Lower Park Road and Priory Road School) it was great to discover the Hastings web site. It brought back some great memories of the 1970 Aquarius, Bonito's and Gaby Packer but not in that order.

Hello Hastings, I wonder IF anyone reading this will remember me from the 'Anchor Inn', George Street, Old Town? I worked in the bar way back, many moons ago.lol. Brian and and Hilda were the landlords then and when I was working there, I married my wife Mandy. We had our reception in the pub whith a great many of our friends and family with us. It was a great place for the young ones b4 going along the street to 'Saturdays Nightclub' ! Anyone remember that one? haha!! Mandy and myself loved Hastings. We are now living back in Scotland and have a lovely daughter called Lorna. She is now 16 y/o. We did have a son, Robbie, but we lost him in 1994. He was 13 y/o. Mandy came from Kenya, East Africa. I hope at least one of you guys will remember us and get in touch,,,please. jomalo@talk21.com Subject for email: HASTINGS. I will enjoy returning any email I get from anyone who knows us.
Thank you all so very much.

I lived in Hastings for 6 months 2 years ago. I just cannot get the East Hill, the Pier, the old town, the noisy students in the summer, The Blue Dolphin, etc. out of my head. Not to mention all the lovely people that made my time in England unique!
Hastings is going to be with me forever.
Thank you for this site!
Excellent photos, touching memories!

I recently married and spent my honeymoon in St Leonards. We had a fantastic time. We were made most welcome. Especially at Ye Olde Pump House in Old Town, Hastings! It is a beautiful, quiet and very friendly town. Lots of local history and very interesting. I shall be returning for my wedding anniversary!!!!
